Lotus Emira i4 Tested on Track – 360 HP / Book Now & Get Free Driving Lesson from YS Khong Driving

The Lotus Emira i4 – an otherwise identical in terms of looks and trim to the 3.5 liter supercharged V6 is now available for booking, and is available for just a shade under RM1.0 million.

We put this 2.0 liter 4-cylinder AMG powered Emira, dubbed the Emira i4 through its paces at the Lotus test track located just off the Lotus factory at Hethel, Emgland.

The AMG engine is set up for a reliable power of 360 Horsepower and 430Nm of torque but we know that the power is just a number.

The overall look and feel is the same whether it is the V6 or straight 4, the only telltale being a different engine compartment cover.

Elsewhere, amd out of sight, the rear frame that carries the mid-engine and transmission is made from aluminium instead of the steel frame used for the V6.

I found the Emira i4 just as easy to drive as the V6, and it is just as fast, and handles just as well too.

Given a choice, which one would I take? The Emira i4 would do fine, and the DCT makes it a potential daily driver, not to mention the lower road tax we need to pay.
