JMC Vigus Pro Pick-Up Truck / Interesting Mechanical Combination/ Going Up Genting/ YS Khong Driving
The JMC Vigus Pro, the latest entry into the Malaysian Pick-up truck market presents a very interesting proposition – a pick-up made in China, assembled here, with a Ford engine, a European ZF 8-speed transmission, and a Borg-Warner 4 x 4 Electronic Switching system, priced below RM100k.
It is hard not to get curious about this unique package that is a combination of Western and Eastern technologies, and knowing that Ford has a big stake in JiangLing Motors in China does bring offer some reassurance to the intending buyer.
The fact that Angka-Tan Motors is affiliated to the long-standing Tan Chong Motor Group also adds confidence to the buyer who may be concerned about service and parts back-up.
Enough of that – we have just one objective – to see how the JMC Vigus Pro performs on our favorite hill climb, although its primary purpose was not for hill climbs.
